Communities in Bloom is RootedHomes’ annual fundraising event celebrating the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that make permanently affordable homeownership possible in Central Oregon. Each year, this gathering brings together neighbors, donors, local businesses, community leaders, homeowners, and housing advocates to invest in a future where more families can put down roots and thrive. At RootedHomes, we believe housing is more than a place to live. It is stability. It is opportunity. It is belonging. It is the foundation that allows families, workers, children, and communities to grow.
Communities in Bloom was created to celebrate the growth of permanently affordable housing in Central Oregon and the community that makes this work possible. As the cost of housing continues to rise, more local families are being priced out of the communities they help serve every day. Teachers, healthcare workers, service industry employees, nonprofit professionals, tradespeople, and young families are struggling to find stable housing they can afford. RootedHomes is working to change that.
Through the Community Land Trust model, we create homes that remain affordable not just for one buyer, but for generations of buyers. This means every investment in RootedHomes continues to serve the community long into the future. Communities in Bloom is a celebration of that lasting impact.
The dream of homeownership has become harder to reach for many Central Oregonians. Rising home prices, limited inventory, and the increasing cost of living have created barriers that many working families cannot overcome alone.
RootedHomes exists to help bridge that gap by creating permanently affordable, sustainable homeownership opportunities for the Central Oregon workforce. Our homes provide more than affordability. They offer stability, connection, and a pathway toward long-term security. When families have access to stable housing, children can stay in their schools, workers can remain close to their jobs, and communities can retain the people who make them strong.
Funds raised through Communities in Bloom directly support this mission. Every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and guest helps RootedHomes expand access to affordable homeownership, support families through the homebuying process, build energy-efficient communities, and ensure homes remain affordable for generations.
